About the author
William Mangus
William Mangus is the author of the Troubled Jones children’s book series, inspired by the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and believed in.
Rooted in storytelling, writing, and hip-hop culture, the Troubled Jones series follows a young boy navigating challenges within his environment while learning to express himself, build confidence, and make positive choices. Through creativity and self-reflection, Jones discovers that his voice matters—and that his circumstances do not define his future.
William’s work centers on themes of resilience, self-belief, emotional growth, and social-emotional learning, making the series especially meaningful for children who may feel overlooked or misunderstood. The stories have resonated with parents, educators, and students for their authentic voice and relatable message.
In addition to children’s literature, William is also the author of Who Am I? — A Collection of Poetry and Short Stories Vol. 1, a reflective work exploring identity, emotion, and the human experience.
William is passionate about partnering with schools, educators, and community organizations to promote literacy, self-expression, and creative confidence. Through readings, discussions, and writing activities connected to the Troubled Jones series, he aims to remind young people that their voice matters—and their story isn’t finished yet.
